A SENSORY JOURNEY TO THE HEART OF THE LAND
Immerse yourself in the roots of Guadeloupe gastronomy during a morning of sharing, where the ancestral know-how of master rum makers meets the age-old tradition of cassava.
Enjoy a guided morning entirely dedicated to local traditions and flavors, for a deep immersion in the identity of the archipelago. Your journey begins at the Domaine du Marquisat in Sainte-Marie, headquarters of the prestigious Longueteau distillery. Founded in 1895, this family institution is one of the few that grows its own sugar cane to produce world-renowned agricultural rum. During this visit, you will discover the secrets of production, from harvesting to crushing to distillation, before savoring the complex aromas of their cuvees during a tasting that will delight the most demanding palates.
The morning continues with an essential stop at La Manioquerie, a place steeped in memory and conviviality. You will plunge into the family world of cassava processing, a fundamental pillar of traditional Caribbean food. You will have the privilege of tasting the famous “Kassav”, this handmade cake cooked on a platen, available in sweet or savory versions.
