VOLCANIC LAND AND ANCESTRAL TRADITIONS
Immerse yourself in the heart of the riches of southern Basse-Terre during an expedition rich in cultural discoveries, between local flavors and spectacular landscapes at the foot of the volcano.
Set off in a 4x4 for a captivating circuit in the heart of volcanic Guadeloupe, where the fertile land reveals all its generosity. Your journey begins by crossing vast banana groves and pineapple plantations, before introducing yourself to the ancestral know-how of rum during a visit to the Montebello distillery (except Sundays). This sensory journey continues with a spiritual stop at the Hindu temple in Shangy and a gourmet immersion in a traditional kassaverie, where you will discover the secrets of making cassava from cassava. After these discoveries, you will share a traditional lunch with the authentic flavors of Basse-Terre.
The afternoon is devoted to natural exploration with a walk to the Coulisse River, a wild and preserved site. You will also have the opportunity to explore a black volcanic sand beach, a unique witness to the activity of La Soufrière, before enjoying a refreshing swim, either in the white waters of the river or on the coastline, depending on the weather conditions of the moment. Each stage of this journey is designed to offer you direct contact with the raw elements of the region.
To end this intense day in emotions, a last photo stop is planned at the emblematic Allée Dumanor, this majestic road lined with royal palm trees that constitutes one of the most famous landscapes of the archipelago. The return to the hotel is full of images, after a full day spent exploring the historical, agricultural and wild soul of South Basse-Terre.
