Today we are offering you a day trip to Marie-Galante. No need to say more, we leave it to you to read. Bon Voyage.

Located an hour by boat from Pointe-à-Pitre, Marie-Galante still offers the authentic charms of insularity thanks to tourism development and rational urbanization. Hilly countryside, rocky shores, protected beaches, our idea of program from arrival until evening.
8:15AM — DEPARTURE FROM POINTE-À-PITRE AND ARRIVAL IN GRAND-BOURG
The ferry company L'Express des Îles offers three departures a day from Monday to Sunday. For a day on site, the 8:15am departure is strongly recommended.
9:15AM — BIGUINE SOUND
That's what you hear when you get out of the boat. After this “dynamic” crossing, the tropical welcome puts the tropical welcome back into context. There is no shortage of car rental companies in the pier car park. We prefer to leave with a guide and his minivan to appreciate his point of view. Eric is from Marie Galantais.
10:45AM — GOURMET BREAK
Before entering the Bielle Distillery, an essential stop of the day, we try Jojo's dishes placed just before the entrance. Vegetable pie, chicken breast, and homemade mango-guava juice, and homemade mango-guava juice, a real treat.
11:00AM — VISIT TO THE BIELLE DISTILLERY
Sugarcane takes 9 to 11 months to reach maturity. Only one harvest per year in the hot season, between February and July. It is June and the factory is operating at full capacity. We follow the manufacturing steps from cutting the cane to fermenting,
distillation to storage. At the tasting, jokes keep coming up like “oh the good life”... pa ni pwoblem.
12 PM — BIG CHASM JAW
An impressive open-air chasm, this hole dug by nature reveals the sea. We can see the coast of Grande-Terre and,
In good weather, the
Desirade. The path leads to the national forest, a protected site.
12:00 — 12:30 — ON THE ROAD TO TASSI
On the right, you can see the wind turbines of Mont Constant, the highest point in Marie-Galante. Arrows lead to hiking trails marked by the ONF. They recall the history of marooning. Slaves escaped by these paths.
12:30 — LUNCH BREAK
At the restaurant at the sugar factory.
13:30 — SWIM AT ANSE CANOT
Translucent water, calm and smooth because protected from the wind, shaded, deserted, wild because surrounded by nature... What else?
14:30 — THE ISLAND BAR
Billions of years ago, two tectonic plates collided and created a mountain range called “the island bar.” Very visible, it separates Marie-Galante in two: Mont Bas and Mont Haut.
15:30 — SAINT-LOUIS BAY
Before getting back on the boat (crossing is always quieter on the way back), our guide shows us around one of the most beautiful bays in the Caribbean
due to its Creole, colorful and wooden houses. Bordered by a sugar cane field and small colorful houses, the fine sandy beach and its translucent water is right in front of Les Saintes. Add to that the sailboats and pleasure boats that anchor here, a spectacular sunset, a ti-punch... and it's the PaWadis.
16:00 — RETURN
From the boat, while waiting for the departure, our eyes are lost in our thoughts and the landscapes pass through our heads again... We will be back Marie-Galante, you can be sure.
