On the fly (1/2)

A few days ago we told you about two Guadeloupean artists who were worth listening to and appreciating. Today, we are tackling another crucial pillar of a successful holiday: FOOD. Here is a selection of casual and “take away” restaurants that will delight your taste buds!

What could be better than an ice cream or a sorbet when it is hot in the islands of Guadeloupe? That’s good timing! Here is a selection of ice cream parlours that we at La Créole Beach & Spa cherish!

LES GIVRÉS in Sainte-Anne

Far from traditional ice creams, this “Fresh Fruits & Super Food Concept” offers a refreshing, healthy and gourmet menu. Opposite the magnificent beach of Sainte-Anne, this mini-brand treats regulars and passers-by to its acaï bowls (very beautiful visually and delicious in taste), its ice creams à la plancha (made right before our eyes) or its café frappé (rather rare to find). To be tasted on the spot or on the magnificent beach of Sainte-Anne. To be tested!

PALAIS DESIRE at Pointe-à-Pitre

Opened more than 10 years ago, Fabienne Youyoute’s first boutique still retains its power of attraction and its desserts their surprising effects. Just elected “Best Craftsman of France”, here ice creams and sorbets are kings and pastries of rigour. You can taste traditional creations such as coconut ice cream or atypical flavours such as cassava flour, cinnamon and cow’s milk ice cream (the boss’s favourite) or Corosol ice cream, fruit of a local tree. Every day, the flavours change according to the season’s products. Flavours guaranteed!
